In early 2024 MSUFCU expanded its NIL program to include more athletes in women’s sports through the Women of Sparta initiative. Women of Sparta, a program developed in collaboration with MSU Women’s Athletics, aimed to empower athletes beyond their sports achievements. Its mission is to foster leadership, advocate for financial literacy and promote personal growth among athletes and in our community. Through the Women of Sparta program, the Credit Union aims to amplify the voices of our athletes and equip them with essential life skills to help create opportunities for them to excel both on and off the field.
The Credit Union offers various opportunities to athletes that are provided directly through the Women of Sparta Program. All athletes have access to financial education sessions that are tailored to enhance their financial literacy, workshops that are aimed at developing personal branding and media skills, and career development opportunities such as job shadowing to help them prepare for life beyond college athletics.
This program highlights MSUFCU’s commitment to supporting athletes in their professional development, reinforcing values of leadership, financial literacy, and personal growth. There are currently 32 athletes in the program with a special NIL addition Zeke the Wonderdog. Athletes have made 2 appearances at MSUFCU events this year, with each athlete making at least one event appearance this year! By partnering with MSU Women’s Athletics and the community, MSUFCU aims to build a foundation where athletes can thrive in all aspects of their lives.
