Rolling into Summer: MSUFCU and Norte Empower Young Cyclists

This summer, MSUFCU is proud to sponsor Norte Youth Cycling’s (Norte) 2025 Summer Bike Camp, helping hundreds of young riders across northern Michigan build confidence, independence, and lifelong healthy habits. Held in Traverse City, Elk Rapids, and Glen Arbor, the camp runs from mid-June through August and serves kids in grades 1-8 with a mix of half-day and full-day biking adventures.

Campers learn essential biking skills–like safety, route planning, and maintenance–while exploring trails, neighborhoods, and parks in small groups led by trained coaches. Full-day sessions offer even more excitement, pairing cycling with zip-lining, fishing, and other outdoor activities. With MSUFCU’s support, Norte can serve more children in northern Michigan through their scholarship program and Bike Library Norte ensuring no child is left out due to cost or lack of equipment.

Large chalkboard has "Welcome to Summer Bike Camp" written on it, sits on sidewalk in front of an orange building on a sunny day.

With more than 1,000 spots available this year, the camp has grown to meet community demand while staying focused on creating fun, safe, and inclusive experiences for kids. MSUFCU is honored to support Norte’s mission to help youth discover their potential–one pedal stroke at a time. Learn more or register at Norte Youth Cycling’s website.
